IUP reaches beyond Indiana, Pa. These options are especially convenient for working professionals and others who want to earn a master's or doctoral degree on their schedule.
Our online and hybrid programs are specifically designed with your needs in mind. They allow you to earn an advanced degree without having to sacrifice your current job or personal life, while still offering a high-quality education that adds value to your career.
Many online programs at other universities require students to forego personal relationships with professors in exchange for at-home convenience. While earning your degree from IUP online, you'll receive the personal guidance and mentorship needed to thrive personally and professionally.

Criminology, MA
Recently ranked as one of the nation's Top 10 Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs by U.S. News & World Report, our online MA in Criminology is specifically designed for working professionals. You can take evening classes while continuing to work in your existing career, finishing your degree in as little as one year.
Food and Nutrition, MS
Use the knowledge you gain from this program focusing in human and applied nutrition to expand your practice in health-related fields or compliment your background in areas such as marketing, journalism, or hospitality management to meet your career goals. For those interested in pursuing a doctorate at another institution or improving your knowledge and skills in a specific research area, take the thesis track.
Health Services Administration, MS
In our master's program in Health Services Administration, you'll pursue courses designed to provide you with marketable skills in human resources, health care delivery, and health care administration. Our real-time video conferencing system, allows you to participate in classes using your computer or the free Zoom app on your smart device.
Human Resources and Employment Relations, MA

Class attendance is mandatory, but possible from anywhere in the world.
Mathematics Education, MEd (Elementary/Middle School)
Take advantage of the best and most current research for effective classroom practices at the elementary and middle school levels and a convenient combination of online and on-campus coursework offered during evenings and in the summer in the Mathematics Education MEd. Hybrid Graduate Programs Offered at IUP
Business, Computer, and Information Technology Certificate
Combine your passion for teaching with your interest in business and technology, and move your career ahead with our business education certification. Classes are taught in a hybrid format, where some of the learning happens in a class format and some takes place online at a time of your choosing.
Curriculum and Instruction, DEd
With a mixture of online and on-campus instruction, students at the Pittsburgh East and Dixon University Center will attend six face to face Saturday classes while taking the rest of the course work online. The Curriculum and Instruction program is specifically designed for working professionals who exhibit a strong commitment to curriculum development and research methods.
Executive MBA
Complete your Executive MBA in as little as few as four semesters, combining half of the coursework online and half in on-campus classes that take place on weekends or evenings (depending on location). Enroll in this accredited program at one of three convenient locations in Western Pennsylvania.
Health and Physical Education, MEd
Enjoy a mixture of online and on-campus coursework while you broaden your knowledge base in health and physical education and update your teaching methods, add health and physical education to your teaching certificate, or gain some extra student teaching experience with your Health and Physical Education MEd.
Instructional Design and Learning Technologies, MA
Take classes on our Pittsburgh East or Indiana campus, while completing most of your work online. This program, designed for working professionals, can prepare or enhance your career in instructional design, distance education, and the development of online courses for business and industry, higher education, health care, government, and many other professional settings.
Mathematics Education, MEd (Elementary/Middle School)

Music Education, MA
This 30-credit MA in Music Education combines online courses with intensive, two-week summer sessions on campus. This program enables you to focus on the period of music history you prefer while offering pedagogy, theory, and research courses to empower you as an administrator of music.
Principal Certification
This under-a-year program, made up of an online summer course and fall/spring internships at your school, is designed for experienced educators who aspire to be elementary or secondary school principals. The IUP Principal Certification Program is nationally recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council. Add an additional 15 credits of online core coursework to earn your Education MEd.
Safety Sciences, PhD
The 54-credit Safety Sciences PhD program offers 24 credits of online coursework and six one-week, on-campus summer workshops that allow students to finish in as few as three years.
Special Education, Certificate
If you are an educator looking to expand your areas of teaching expertise, the Special Education Certificate of Recognition (COR) is perfect for you. You can take 15 of the 18 required credits online, with the remaining credits coming from an on-campus practicum experience.
