    • GMAT or GRE Scores may be waived if one of the below criteria is met:
      • 4+ years of professional experience.
      • Already enrolled in another IUP graduate program with at least 12 credits earned.
      • Applying for early admission.
      • Already earned another master's degree.

    Business (MBA, Executive)

    • Résumé
    • GMAT scores (waived for those with four or more years professional experience)

    Business (PhD)

    • Three letters of recommendation
    • At least one previous degree (bachelor's or master's) in business
    • Résumé
    • Official GMAT/GRE scores (GMAT scores preferred; previous GRE scores will be accepted)
    • Professional writing samples that highlight your writing and research skills

    Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

    • Three letters of recommendation. Recommenders should submit the letter using the upload option in the electronic request form after application submission, not the free text entry alternative.
    • GRE General Test Scores (subject test not required)
    • Résumé or CV
    • List of all psychology courses taken before enrolling into the PsyD

    Composition and Applied Linguistics, English (PhD)

    • Three letters of recommendation are preferred; two are required
    • Goal statement that describes the applicant's research interests and goals for doctoral studies (about three pages, double-spaced)
    • Curriculum vita (CV) or résumé

    Counselor Education and Supervision (PhD)

    • A counseling-specific goal statement that outlines relevant educational/work experience, reasons for wanting to earn a PhD in CES, and reasons interested in IUP’s PhD in two to three pages.

    Criminology (PhD)

    Media and Communications Studies (PhD)

    If you have earned your master’s degree five years or more prior to your application, and have five or more years of full-time employment at an accredited US institution of higher education or with a US-based organization directly related to the Media and Communication Studies curriculum, you will need:

    • a current curriculum vitae
    • a writing sample, including a written response to a research question or problem
    • a personal interview
    • an academic portfolio of work including such items as scholarly publications and presentations or product samples relevant to the program coursework

    All other applicants will need:

    • recent official GRE or MAT scores. MAT scores need to meet department minimum requirements.
    • a current curriculum vitae or resume
    • a writing sample that reflects your ability to do academic work and research

    Music Education (MA)

    • Photocopy of current teacher certification in music education (submitted directly to the Department of Music)

    Music Performance (MA)

    • Schedule performance audition (contact performance area faculty directly)

    Nursing (PhD)

    • Current nursing license
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Personal interview

    Principal Certification

    Safety Sciences (MS)

    • Résumé

    Safety Sciences (PhD)

    • Three letters of recommendation
    • Résumé
    • Writing sample (thesis, articles, reports, etc.)
    • Minimum graduate grade-point average of 3.0 or higher

    School Psychology (PhD)

    Speech-Language Pathology (MS)

    • GRE General Test Scores
    • Undergraduate degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Prerequisite coursework in speech-language pathology
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • Goal statement
    • Interview with the program’s admissions committee at a program open house or with an uploaded video.

    Sport Science (MS)

    International applicants in all tracks need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores, even if their citizenship is in an English-speaking country.
