Please join us for the 23rd annual IUP Business Golf Classic that will be held at the beautiful Longue Vue Club on Monday, August 19, 2013.
Eberly College of Business and Information Technology is working to generate scholarship support so more students may receive quality, affordable education and career preparation. Of the over 2,300 students enrolled in the college each year, only about 10 percent receive aid in the form of a scholarship. There are significantly more students who need and deserve scholarships.
Scholarships help to both recruit and retain students. With an average cost of textbooks of $550 per semeser, many high-performing students are forced to leave IUP since they cannot afford the required course materials. Other students must choose between attending class and working multiple jobs or extra shifts, a factor that contributes to the failure rate as coursework becomes secondary to bill payments.
Our BAC members, alumni, and friends are the keys to generating more scholarship funds for students. All net proceeds of sponsorships will be directly awarded to Eberly students. Your generous contributions will impact the lives of Eberly students.
The schedule of events will be the same as last year with the hopes of having many of our past golfers join/rejoin our premier fundraising event designed to generate scholarship support for our students and to provide opportunities for networking with friends and alumni.
Longue Vue is located in Verona, Pennsylvania. Registration/Driving Range/Buffet Lunch and Bloody Mary Tee Party will begin at 11:00 a.m. Shotgun Tee-Off will start at 1:00 p.m. The outing offers the golfers a choice of either a competitive or friendly scramble or stroke play format.
We look forward to your participation and your help in bringing in more golfers and sponsors to the event.
