  • Here’s a handy checklist of things you need to know and do before leaving IUP.

    IUP Undergraduate Commencement Checklist

    • Access MyIUP

      1. Apply for Graduation

      2. Confirm your attendance by 11:00 p.m. on July 29, 2020, if you are attending the Undergraduate University Commencement Ceremony.

      3. Review Degree Works with your advisor in your college.

      4. Verify your name and address (Personal Information tab).

    • Attend the Graduation Fair at the Co-Op Bookstore.

      Due to the concerns regarding the rapid spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Graduation Fair scheduled for April 6 and 7 was canceled. 
      • Purchase cap and gown.

      • Order graduation announcements.

      • Pick up Honor’s Medallion.

        • GPA of 3.25 or above as of last term completed to be eligible.

        • Eligible for first bachelor’s degree candidates only.

      • Verify your name and degree information so your diploma is accurate.

      • Verify the address where you want your diploma to be mailed.

        • Note: This address can be different from your regular mailing address. If your diploma mailing address changes, you need to send a written, signed notification to the Registrar’s Office.

      • If you are unable to attend, please visit the Co-Op Store.

        • Pick up Honor’s Medallion on third floor of Clark Hall after the Salute to Grads event.

    • Confirm degree requirements again with advisor.

    • Clear financial obligations with the Office of the Bursar.

    • Participate in the IUP Commencement Ceremony.

    • Diploma will be mailed two to six weeks after last term of attendance.

    • Transcripts can be ordered through the Registrar’s Office.

      • To ensure your degree is included on the transcript, check “hold for degree” on the paper transcript request form. The transcript will be sent as soon as the degree is awarded.

      • If your degree is not needed on the transcript, order using any of the four options provided on the website.

    Do You Have a Loan?

    • If you have a Perkins loan, you should receive a letter in the mail approximately four weeks before graduation with instructions on how to complete your Perkins loan exit information online. You may also contact the Bursar’s Office at 724-357-2207, ext. 2138.

    • If you have a Federal Stafford loan, it is important for you to go to the website and complete the exit counseling session. You may also contact the Financial Aid office at 724-357-2218.

    Your IUP Email Account

    Your IUP email account will become inactive 60 days after graduation. As an IUP graduate, however, you may enjoy a free alumni email account—IUP Live Mail—from the Alumni Relations Office.
