Once you have created a collection, you will need to add it into the metadata of the page on which you want it to display. You can also
remove a collection from a page where it’s already displayed.
-
Make a note of the exact name of the collection to be displayed.
-
Log into staging, and go to a web page in the staging web browser on which you want to display the collection. Click Switch to Edit in the toolbar at the top of the page. (You can also
open a page layout from within the workarea.)
-
Click on Design, which will open the PageBuilder menu.
-
In the top section (Page Action) click on Edit.
-
When the page reloads, click on the Widgets tab in the PageBuilder menu. (If the PageBuilder menu is not visible, click on Content in the top toolbar, then click Design again.)
-
In the Widgets tab, click once on IUPCollection. The page will now display all of the areas where the collection could be located. Click on one of them to select it.
-
When the page reloads, mouse over the collection widget on the page and click on the Edit (pencil) icon at the top of the black Collection Widget box.
-
The Collection Widget menu box will appear. The top dropdown field, Collection ID, will show every collection on your website. Choose the one you want to display.
-
By default, titles of collections will not display. But you have the option to show them, if you choose.
-
The Page Size field should already be set to 100. Do not change this number.
-
The Teaser option is checked by default. This displays the summary of each item underneath its link. Summaries can be very helpful to site visitors, so it’s recommended that this stay checked. If you do not want summaries to appear under any
of the links in the collection, uncheck the Teaser box.
-
Leave the other options as they are, and click Save at the bottom.
-
When the page reloads, the collection will appear.
-
If you need to move the collection to a different location on the page, click the Move icon (four-way arrow) at the top of the Collection Widget black box, and choose another location.
-
When you are finished, you must select Check In or Submit from the Page Action field of the PageBuilder menu.
Normally, the title of a collection will not appear on the webpage. However, if more than one collection is displayed on a page, you have the option in the Collection Widget to display the collection titles. In this case, the collection titles (and/or
descriptions) should be edited so as to make sense to site visitors.
