Only news posts will appear in Imported News. Although it’s possible to add regular web pages to the Imported News collection, they will not appear on your News page.
Have you seen an IUP news post on another department or office website that you would like in your own News section? You can do this with Imported News.
Sharing another department’s news is great. But, having two or more posts on the IUP website about the same topic may end up providing inaccurate information if one post is updated but the other is not. It also splits up web traffic (which can result
in a lower search-engine page rank) and may create confusion if more than one page is offering the same information.
Instead, using Imported News will display another IUP website’s news posts in chronological order within your news feed.
Before you start: Make a note of the news post’s exact headline.
Imported News works just like a collection.
The selected news item(s) will now appear within your news feed and will remain there until you remove them from the collection. Depending on how old they are or the number of news posts in your feed, they may also appear on your home page’s list of news
