Indiana University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the availability of the Donald A. Walker Department of Economics Scholarship Fund.
Donald A. Walker served as chairperson of the IUP Department of Economics from 1969 to 1998. While at IUP, Walker authored more than 100 professional manuscripts and books. He was honored with IUP Distinguished Faculty awards for both scholarship and
service. He received the first Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Distinguished Academic Service Award, was elected the first University Professor at IUP, served as the youngest-ever president of the History of Economics Society, and edited its international
scholarly journal for a decade.
The Donald A. Walker Department of Economics Scholarship Fund is to be used to offer scholarship awards to IUP students majoring in Economics, in Economics Pre-Law, or in Social Science Education with a concentration in Economics.
Awardees will be selected by the Student Affairs Committee of the Department of Economics in consultation with appropriate University offices.
Review of completed application packets will begin the first week in March and continue until the scholarship is awarded.
