The University Band is a joint ensemble of the IUP Music Department and IUP Community Music School, and is under the direction of Jason Worzbyt. Comprised of community members, IUP non-music major students, and IUP music majors on their secondary instruments, it provides participants with a unique intergenerational experience and university/community collaboration.
This end-of-semester performance will feature:
- Serenade No. 11 for Band by Vincent Persichetti
- Trilogy for Band by Clifton Williams
- The Dam Busters March by Eric Coates
- Mock Morris by Percy Grainger
- Mannin Veen by Haydn Wood
- and a world premiere of Misterioso for Wind Ensemble by Bruce Yurko, written specifically for the University Band, and conducted by the composer.
The concert will also be live-streamed.
