Enjoy music, poems, stories, and more in celebration of the traditional mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. This holiday celebrates the eighth full moon each year, which is August 15 on the lunar calendar (September 17 in 2024).
This Sunday event kicks off a series of celebration activities. Performers from Pittsburgh will perform moon-related pieces on Chinese instruments: Guqin and Pipa. IUP community members will play piano, sing, dance, read moon-related poems, and tell moon-related stories. Participants will also be able to taste Chinese moon cakes and other goodies.
This event is sponsored by Han-Qiao IUP Chinese Program Enhancement Funds and IUP Lively Arts.
