A keyboard faculty recital will be performed by Christine Clewell, called “Heroes and Martyrs from WW II: Lessons through Songs and Poetry and the Refuge Crisis.”
Cast in the traditional English service of “Lessons and Carols” with a modern theme to reflect on the lessons of the Holocaust, this recital includes solo organ, four-hand organ, and vocal works performed by these IUP string and vocal faculty: Kaleigh Acord, violin; Joseph Baunoch, voice; Linda Jennings, cello; and Erin Koolman.
Assisting in the performance of vocal and organ music are Christopher Jackson, voice, and Matt Balaban, organ. Poetry and readings written by heroes and martyrs will be shared by the Rev. Theodore Cogar, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church; Father William Geiger, rector of Christ Episcopal Church; and Vicar Jane Miller of Zion Church.
