Indiana University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the availability of theNicholas Karatjas Scholarshipfor Economics.
Nicholas Karatjas is a former professor and chairperson of the Department of Economics. He received his PhD and MA degrees in economics from Stony Brook University, the State University of New York, and a BA degree in economics from the George Washington University. Professor Karatjas was a member of the Department of Economics from 1978 to his retirement in 2017.
Purpose of Fund
The Nicholas Karatjas Scholarship for Economics shall provide scholarship support to students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania based on the established criteria.
Criteria

Must be enrolled full-time at Indiana University of Pennsylvania pursuing a degree in economics;

Preference for students who have attained junior or senior status, as defined by the university, at the time of receipt;

Preference for students who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.5;

Preference for students with financial need as defined by the university;

Preference for students who are active members of Economics Club student organization.
Selection Decision
Selection of recipients for the Nicholas Karatjas Scholarship for Economics shall be made by the Economics Scholarship Committee.
