Indiana University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the availability of the Robert J. Stonebraker Scholarship for Economics.
Dr. Robert J. Stonebraker is a former professor in the Department of Economics. He received his PhD degree in economics from Princeton University and a BA degree in economics from the University of Maryland. His career as a professor at IUP spanned 30 years, from 1971 until his retirement from IUP in 2001. He retired from the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics at Winthrop University in 2017. In encouraging future economists, Stonebraker took a personal interest in the success of the students he taught and was willing to spend whatever time necessary to help them achieve their goals.
Purpose of Fund
The Robert J. Stonebraker Scholarship for Economics shall provide scholarship support to full-time undergraduate students enrolled at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Criteria

Must be a declared major in the Department of Economics.

Preference given to incoming freshmen who have scored at least 1,000 on their SAT or ACT equivalent.

Preference given to upperclassmen with at least a 3.00 GPA at the time of selection.

Preference given to students with financial need.
Selection Decision
Awardees will be selected by the Student Affairs Committee in consultation with appropriate university offices.
