Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) Certificate Program Launched by Department of Geography Regional Planning

The Department of Geography and Regional Planning has begun offering its undergraduate Certificate in Unmanned Aerial Systems Science and Applications in fall 2018. Four courses (12 credits) make up the UAS Certificate.

Smith’s Article “The Co-Production of Peri-Urban Space” Published in Geographical Review

Jennifer Smith’s article, “The Co-Production of Peri-Urban Space,” was recently published in the November 2017 issue of Geographical Review. In the article, Smith uses land-change science and livelihoods analysis techniques to investigate the social processes embedded in peri-urban growth at three study sites in the Polokwane Municipality, South Africa.

Bachelor of Science in Regional Planning Program Receives Reaccreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Regional Planning program was recently re-accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board. The program is the only accredited undergraduate program of its kind in Pennsylvania.
