What’s Happening for Human Development and Family Science

Human development and family science majors can engage in various activities outside of the classroom, embellishing their credentials and enthusiasm for their field. Near IUP's campus there are YMCAs, United Way offices, homeless and domestic violence shelters, and social service agencies that are looking for volunteers.

Child Development and Family Relations Student Association

The Child and Family Studies Association supports all major and minor students concerned with the well-being of children and their families. The Child and Family Studies Association holds fundraisers to support local social service agencies, schedules guest speakers, and organizes field trips to urban early childhood programs and agencies.

    Child Development Lab

Our child development lab is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). You will have the opportunity to work with children in the community, from infancy to age five.
