The Race to Anyplace took place at the Wintergarden at PPG Place in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
The event raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is in its 20th year. The event is a stationary bike race that required teams of at 12 riders to pedal continuously from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Riders change every 15 minutes. The team that raised the most money is declared the overall winner. There was also a prize for the team with the most miles at the end of the six hours.
The Exercise Science Majors Club has participated the last 15 years and has raised more than $16, 500 for the cause. Two faculty members, Hayden Gerhart and Leslie Stenger, and nine studentsMikayla Mills, Kendra Mengle, Corrine Casazza, Mike Parker, Jo-Hsuan Lee, Charles Horsley, Janae Sauders, Evan Breese, and Partrick McCabekept two bikes going throughout the day. The team raised $1309.00 and rode more than 200 miles.all to pedal out cancer!
