Special Editions of Textbooks

  • If you’re placing a standard edition of a textbook on reserve, you can simply submit the normal Book Reserve Form along with the item. However, if you would like to submit a textbook for reserve where the front cover of the book reflects one of the following statements, you will need to obtain written permission from the publisher:

    • Instructor’s Edition
    • Instructor’s Review Copy – Not for Sale
    • Instructor’s Evaluation Copy – Not for Sale
    • Examination Copy
    • Not for Resale

    When making your request to the publisher, please include the following information:

    1. Your name
    2. Title of the book
    3. Author
    4. Name of the course and course number
    5. Reference that the textbook will be circulated at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania through the Stapleton Library, Reserve Department
    6. Reference how long you would like the textbook to remain on reserve (example: semester, academic year, indefinitely)
    7. Number of students registered for your course

    Once the permission is received, please include it along with the textbook and your Book Reserve Form to be processed.
