Answering the Call

A monument that honors veterans of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom, Answering the Call now sits on the east side of the new humanities building. Commissioned by Rho Tau Chi military honor fraternity, it was created by current and former IUP art students.

When the IUP men’s basketball team arrived without its uniforms for a February game in Edinboro, the Fighting Scots offered to lend their old jerseys, so the game could go on. The Crimson Hawks won, 87-59, and photos of the players in their borrowed jerseys went viral.
