This presentation will cover the statistics on the prevalence and extent of peer sexual harassment, teen dating violence, and sexual violence among adolescents. The lessons and findings from the New York City middle schools project called Shifting Boundaries that was funded by the National Institute of Justice will be covered in detail. This empirically supported program is available free from the U.S. Department of Justice. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in thinking about and constructing alternative frameworks for prevention strategies for reducing peer sexual harassment and teen dating violence using a case history.
