Engaging Bystanders is a form of primary prevention of sexual violence. By exploring a variety of opportunities in various situations to safely and comfortably intervene in less extreme circumstances, the continuum to more severe sexual violence may be avoided. This Social-Ecological Model considers the complex interplay between individual, relationship, community, and social factors and allows us to address the factors that put people at risk for experiencing or perpetrating violence.
