Hortencia Correa is from Kennett Square, PA and is a
first generation student. Her family is from Mexico and have been a big
influence in her academic achievements. She is currently a junior, majoring in
honors psychology and minoring in sociology and biology. Hortencia is part of
the Tlacuilo Honor Society, a Board of Governors scholarship recipient, and
also a Robert E. McNair scholar. Her interests after her undergraduate career
involve receiving both her Master’s and Doctorate degree in social work, public
health, or counseling. She hopes to assist (im)migrant populations and other
minorities who have been victims of abuse in addition to working in the field
of batterer programs.
