The courses offered through the IUP Community Music School give participants guided lessons through learning how to properly read and play music on piano, guitar, and bagpipes—all while having fun! Students must have access to the class-specified instrument
Following the policy statement in early April by President Michael Driscoll in regard to the COVID-19 threat, and the announcement that all summer courses for the university will be online with no face-to-face instruction, the IUP Community Music School also canceled all face-to-face instruction through the
end of the summer 2020 semester.
Guitar classes do not normally meet during the summer, but registration for online private lessons is OPEN and will be ongoing and rolling through Friday, July 10.
Please see the IUP Community Music School home page for additional information. For more information from Indiana University of Pennsylvania,
please see the comprehensive Coronavirus Information page.
All classes take place in Cogswell Hall, IUP main campus. Click here for map and directions.
Note: If you cannot attend the listed class time for the piano and guitar courses, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org of your interest. There is always the possibility
of re-scheduling the class to a day/time where all interested students can attend. If the minimum number of students is not met, those interested will be offered private instruction.
