The Office of International Education and the College of Fine Arts will host an important visit from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

Arlene Jackson, director of International Education at AASCU, and Sufei Li, national coordinator for the AASCU-CCIEE China Higher Education Program Development program and liaison officer for CCIEE/China Education Association for International Exchange U.S. programs, will speak to IUP stakeholders about a focused program in Fine Arts for non-degree, undergraduate, and possibly graduate, degree-seeking students from China.

In late Fall 2011, Michele Petrucci proposed to Dean Michael Hood that the IUP College of Fine Arts apply to join the AASCU-CCIEE program. In Spring 2012, the provost and president both formally supported the IUP application to become part of the AASCU-CCIEE program. Since that time, Hood has attended the June conference/graduation ceremony in China, and both the College of Fine Arts and the Office of International Education (OIE) have continued to have dialogue with AASCU and CCIEE.

The OIE, in coordination with IUP Communications, supplied AASCU-CCIEE with promotional materials for the 2013–2014 application cycle—the first year of full participation by IUP.
