Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Conference

IUP at Northpointe will host the Greater Allegheny Valley Wound Care and HBOT Conference on Friday, April 19, 2013. IUP students should contact Lori.Eshenbaugh@iup.edu for information on how to register without cost.

This five-hour introductory course is designed for physicians, nurses, and technicians to gain an understanding of the etiology, and of the treatment and prevention protocols, from current evidence-based practice and guidelines in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Upon completion of this conference, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding specific to your discipline through didactics, discussion, and question and answer participation, in the following:

  • Venus stasis disease
  • Venus leg ulcers
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Pressure ulcer treatment
  • Pressure ulcer prevention
  • Effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the inpatient setting
