Music faculty members Ryan Beeken and Stephanie Caulder presented invited clinics at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association annual state conference, held in Erie, Pa., on April 18–20, 2013.

Beeken’s presentation, “Conductor-Creature Versus Conductor-Teacher: Establish Priorities and Rekindle the Passion!” placed emphasis on empowering choral educators with an understanding of what students discover and value in the artistic choral experience. Beeken is in his first year as director of Choral Activities in the Department of Music.

Caulder’s clinic, “Why Not Play the Oboe? Tips and Strategies for Success,” aimed to provide tools/resources which could help with starting beginning oboists or improving intermediate or advanced oboe players’ aptitudes.
