IUP Tuba and Euphonium Studio and Collins Perform in New York

The IUP Tubaphonium Ensemble, under the direction of Zach Collins, performed at the 2013 Northeast Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference (NERTEC) in Ithaca, N.Y., on April 21. Additionally, Collins performed a solo recital at NERTEC.

The IUP Tubaphonium Ensemble performed a program including “Tubaphonium Overture,” a new composition by Collins; “Journey Through Space,” composed by IUP alumnus Anthony O’Toole; and an arrangement of three motets by Anton Bruckner. The ensemble also performed a concert at Horseheads High School in Horseheads, N.Y., on Friday, April 19.

The The IUP Tubaphonium Ensemble is comprised of music majors who perform on the tuba or euphonium and non-majors by audition.

Collins also presented a solo recital at NERTEC. His performance included “Concerto No. 2” by O’Toole and “Concerto No. 2” by Alexey Lebedev.
