The National Science Foundation is holding its
2013–2014 Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program competition.
Institutions are limited to two proposals for instrument acquisition and
one proposal for instrument development.
Due to this restriction, IUP is holding an internal competition for
interested IUP faculty and staff members. Researchers should provide a
one-page description (additional pages will be discarded and not
reviewed) of the type of equipment they are interested in purchasing and
how the equipment will benefit research and research training at IUP.
Please be sure to include your name, department, and contact
information.
If your proposal is for the resubmission of a
previously unfunded MRI submission, please also include with your
project description (in addition to the one-page description above) the
following supplemental information: 1) NSF reviewers comments and 2) a
one-page description of how your proposed resubmission addresses the
reviewers comments.
For general information on the MRI program, please see the Program Synopsis. For more detailed information about award limits, eligibility, and other considerations, please refer to the Program Guidelines and the Frequently Asked Questions.
The one-page project description (and supplemental information, if proposing a resubmission) should be submitted no later than
the close of business on Monday, November 18, 2013. Project descriptions
may be submitted via e-mail, campus mail, or hand delivery to:
