The Crimson Children’s Choir of the IUP Community Music School seeks new singers who are in grades 3–8.

The Choir, under the direction of IUP Music faculty member Jane Potter Baumer, meets Fridays, 4:45–5:45 p.m. Auditions are Friday, February 7, and Friday, February 14, beginning at 4:45 p.m. E-mail to schedule. Singers do not need music reading skills, but must be able to match pitch and be available for a concert (TBA) the weekend of May 16–18.

The choir joined the Community Music School in fall 2013, when Baumer closed her private studio for voice and piano. Baumer’s group has consistently had between 10–12 singers, but she would let it grow to between 16–24 singers. The children, who sing in two and three parts, presented a concert of Christmas music at St. Andrews Village and at Indiana’s “It’s a Wonderful Life Festival” in December, and were featured in the Hoodlebug Brass 2012 Christmas Postcards album.
