Hank Knerr, director of the Lively Arts at Indiana
University of Pennsylvania, was recently elected to serve a two-year term as
president of the board of directors for Pennsylvania Presenters. The election
was held on June 6, 2014, at the organization’s annual conference and meeting
in Bethlehem, Pa. The term begins July 1.
Pennsylvania Presenters, with offices located in Emmaus,
Pa. and established in 1987, is a consortium of performance presenters,
artists, and agents working in the touring performing arts field. Consisting of
over 125 individual, organizational, and institutional members, the group
facilitates dynamic peer-to peer connections and is considered among the top
organizations of its kind in the U.S.
Knerr has also served as a board member with the Indiana
County Humane Society, Indiana Arts Council, and Indiana County Tourist Bureau
and currently sits on the board of the Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance. He
participates regularly as a conference panelist and consultant in the fields of
performing arts presenting, community outreach, and arts-in-education and has
chaired one regional and three statewide arts conferences. In 2009, the Pennsylvania
Presenters honored Knerr with the first Presenter of the Year Award. He joined the Lively Arts and the College of Fine Arts in 1989.
Knerr replaces outgoing president Andrew Cassano from the
Zoellner Center for the Arts at Lehigh University, who continues on the board as
immediate past president. Other board members include Teresa Baughman, Westmoreland
Cultural Trust, Greensburg; Patrick Brogan, ArtsQuest, Bethlehem; Jennifer
Cole, Majestic Theater, Gettysburg; Patricia Colosimo, University of Pittsburgh
at Bradford; Laura Kendall, Ware Center, Lancaster; Larry Kosson, Roots
Agency; Jennifer Morris, Siegel Artist Management; and John Rhein, West Chester
University, West Chester. Catherine Little serves as administrator.
