Check Out Monday’s Events for International Education Week

The Office of International Education invites you to a variety of free cultural activities and programs as part of International Education Week, October 18–25, 2014.  These events are free and open to IUP and Indiana community. 

Monday’s events for International Education Week include: International Luncheon, Six O’Clock Series: “The Impact of Studying Abroad on Your Future,” and a Modest Fashion Show.

Monday, October 20

International Luncheon

  • 12:00–1:15 p.m. Sutton Hall, Blue Room
  • Free food and music for all. Our kickoff luncheon as part of International Education Week. Hear two returning study-abroad students and two current international students share their stories of how studying abroad has impacted their lives and career paths. We will also have students writing names in Arabic and Chinese, and henna hand tattoos will be available for those interested.  

Six O’Clock Series: The Impact of Studying Abroad on Your Future

  • 6:00–7:30 p.m., HUB Ohio Room
  • Have you ever considered studying abroad? The experiences you gain while studying abroad can have a major impact on your life. As part of this panel discussion, professionals who studied abroad during their time in college will provide insight on their international experiences as it pertains to their careers. They will also discuss how their experiences studying abroad have shaped and formed their future in the working world, as well as in their personal lives

Modest Fashion Show

  • 7:00 p.m., Sprowls Hall: McVitty Auditorium
  • See diverse definitions of modesty presented through clothes from around the world, including countries like Mali, Taiwan, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and more. Modesty could be the choice to be ourselves, to express our beliefs, to show our individuality, to be proud of who we are, and more.
