The holidays are right around the corner. Brighten someone’s
holiday season by participating with Treasures for Children! Treasures for
Children is a program held around the holiday season each year by the Salvation
Army. The goal of this drive is to provide gifts for more than 2,000 children,
elderly, and physically/mentally challenged people in the Indiana area.
The Office of Service Learning is in need of volunteers for
this year’s drive. The volunteers will be handing out flyers to students
walking through the HUB and will be in charge of receiving donations.
Volunteers will be responsible for keeping track of tags
signed out, as well as all donations received during their shift. Volunteers are
needed the week before Thanksgiving break, November 17–21. In addition,
volunteers are needed the week after break, December 1–3, to assist in the
collection of gifts. Volunteers will be needed from 10:30 to 6:00 each day.
If you are able to help out for any amount of time please
contact Kathleen Lackey at RGFT@iup.edu specifying what day(s) and times you
can commit to, or stop by the Office of Service Learning in 302 Pratt Hall.
