The Sustainability Studies Colloquium Series
continues on Friday, February 27, with its third event: a faculty workshop on transdisciplinary collaborations and pedagogies
in sustainability studies led by Tina Lynn Evans, PhD.
- Friday, February 27
- 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including lunch
- Breezedale Alumni Center Library
Evans is
associate professor of Sustainability Studies at Colorado Mountain College,
where she teaches in the Bachelor of Arts program in that field. She earned her
PhD in Sustainability Education from Prescott College, and she serves on the
Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education Advisory Council. She is also the author of Occupy Education: Living and
Learning Sustainability (2012, Peter Lang).
In Occupy Education, Evans develops
the critical social theory of sustainability and her critical pedagogy of
sustainability. She then presents research on the fruitful application of these
theories to sustainability education. Evans has focused much of her
teaching on energy issues in society and globalized political economy. Her most
recent writing has focused on transdisciplinary theory and practice in
sustainability education.
Evans is also a contributing author to New Clear
Vision and an avid participant in teaching
about and developing more sustainable food systems. More information, including
links to many of her publications, can be found at her Academia.edu website
and on her personal website.
To register for the workshop and lunch on Friday, February 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Breezedale Alumni Center Library, please contact Amanda Poole at pooleab@iup.edu.
