Successful IUP Students Today and Tomorrow

All IUP faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend this professional development workshop on Friday, March 27, from 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in the PNC Room, Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. This event is sponsored by the Student Affairs Division and cosponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence.

As IUP moves toward finalization of its new Strategic Plan, Goal Two of the Plan details the preparation of students for work, life, and academic success. This workshop will provide national research, along with IUP-specific data to allow workshop participants to better understand the challenges and opportunities related to preparing students for success, and will allow a collaborative dialogue to take place around how guiding elements of the Goal may be achieved.

Keynote Address:

Matt Pellish, Senior Director of Research, Education Advisory Board (EAB), Washington, DC will address the following:

  • Identifying at-risk students
  • Using a systemic-institutional approach to student success
  • Developing strategies to mitigate student departure
