Chinese Language Student Wins Preliminary Contest of the Fifth Chinese Speech Contest for University Students in New England

Linus Morales, a student in the CHIN 281 class of the spring 2015 semester, won the preliminary contest of the fifth Chinese Bridge Speech Contest for University Students in New England, and was selected as one of the seven finalists (at the Intermediate Level) from nearly 50 students to compete in the final contest to be held at Boston, April 12, 2015.

The preliminary contest was held online. Participants were asked to submit a recording of their speech electronically. The selected finalists were invited to compete in the final contest on site. The contest was organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Massachusetts–Boston.

Linus Morales is a freshman majoring in Asian Studies with a focus on Chinese language.
