The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently listed anthropology and archaeology as having faster than average job growth in the coming years and as being fields where employees make better than average salaries. It is a good time to be an anthropologist!

The most recent report from the United States Department of Labor puts the job growth in anthropology and archaeology at 19 percent through 2022. This is significantly faster than the 11 percent increase projected for all occupations.

The median income for anthropologists and archaeologists was $57,420 in 2012, much better than the average median income of $34,750.

IUP’s Anthropology Department and Applied Archaeology MA Program have a proven record of student success, with the majority of our students finding work in their chosen fields.
