The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will launch
the 2015–16 Science Inspires Series (SIS)
with a faculty talk, “Integer
Partitions — They Do Grow On Trees,” by Timothy Flowers (IUP,
Mathematics) on September 10 at 4:30 p.m. in 107 Weyandt Hall.
On October 1, SIS
will join IUP’s Sigma Xi in bringing to campus distinguished speaker Robert
Wallace, professor, and Erik Jonsson, distinguished
chair of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas,
Dallas. Wallace’s lecture, “2D Materials: Challenges and Opportunities for
Electronics,” will take place at
4:30 p.m. in Eberly Auditorium, followed with a public reception in the Eberly Atrium.
The fall semester
SIS series will close out on November 12 with a faculty talk by Waleed Farag (IUP, Computer Science) on “A Novel
System for Searching Image Databases using Evolutionary Algorithms” at 4:30 p.m. in 107 Weyandt Hall.
