For its presentation of
L.A. Theatre Works’ Dracula on Thursday night, October 8, 2015, eight organizations will participate in a “mocktail”
event. “Toasting the Living Dead” will begin at 6:45 p.m. foreshadowing the
8:00 p.m. performance in Fisher Auditorium with a variety of beverage concoctions.
Audience members are encouraged to arrive early as eight student
organizations join in serving up “mocktails” for “Toasting the Living Dead.”
Held in the Performing Arts Center Grand Lobby, audience members can sample a
variety non-alcoholic beverage concoctions and vote for their favorite. The
cast of Dracula will join the groups and audience members after the
performance for the awarding of the prizes.
Organized by the Pulse and Center for Student Life,
organizations participating include the Pulse; Paranormal Society of IUP; the Muslim
Student Association; Students Educating Ecology, Diversity, and Sustainability;
Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society; Hawk Rock; Family and Consumer Sciences
Education Student Association; and HAVOC Step Team
This chilling tale, to be performed in unique radio-play
style, follows the unworldly Count Dracula as he feeds off others to preserve
his eternal life. As he slips quietly into Victorian London, the city seems powerless
against his frightful power; and only one man—the smart and resourceful Dr. Van
Helsing—can stop the carnage.
Renowned for being the foremost radio theater company in the
United States for more than two decades, L.A. Theatre Works has single-handedly
brought the finest recorded dramatic literature into the homes of millions.
Tickets for the October 8 event are available now online or the Lively Arts’ ticketing website. Tickets can also be purchased at the Hadley Union Building ticket office on the
IUP campus or by calling the HUB ticket office at 724-357-1313.
Any seats remaining will be sold at the door starting one
hour prior to the performance. Tickets are priced at $40 for regular admission,
$34 for seniors and groups, and $18 for students and children.
