Katherine Conway-Turner, IUP’s Middle States visiting
team chair, will be at IUP November 1–3 to make an initial assessment of our
preparation for her April 10–13 visit. As part of her initial visit, an open forum
will be held on November 2 from 2:00–3:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall (second floor, John Sutton Hall).
The forum will be an opportunity to meet with Conway-Turner as well as to learn more about the reaffirmation of accreditation
process and the IUP Self Study. All
members of the IUP community are encouraged to attend.
Conway-Turner currently serves as the president of SUNY
Buffalo State. She previously served as the provost and vice president for
Academic Affairs at both Hood College (2010–14) and SUNY Geneseo (2004–09).
In addition to her higher level administration experience, she has also been
recognized as an American Council on Education fellow and has held teaching
positions at Santa Clara University and California State University, Long

Middle States steering committee, members of the administration, and student
