The final version of the IUP
Self Study, which will be submitted to the Middle States Commission on
Higher Education (MSCHE), is now available for download as an Adobe pdf on the
IUP Middle States website. The document has been approved by the Steering
Committee and endorsed by IUP’s administration and the Council of Trustees.
IUP’s Self Study document was developed over a two-year
period, with research being conducted by seven subcommittees comprising over 175
members of the campus community. The document itself was written by
Distinguished University Professor Ben Rafoth and edited by the Steering
Committee. In October 2015, the public as well as IUP’s Visiting Team Chair Katherine Conway-Turner were provided a draft copy of the IUP Self Study to review and provide feedback. This feedback was
provided to the Steering Committee, which revised the document into the final
version to be submitted to MSCHE.
IUP’s next step in the reaffirmation of accreditation
process is to submit the IUP Self Study
to MSCHE and our Site Visit Team. IUP’s Site Visit Team will visit campus April
10–13 to review information regarding the Self Study and make a recommendation
to MSCHE regarding IUP’s accreditation status.
