Returning to the Lively Arts' Sound Choices show season is the Litton
Quartet. The resident faculty string quartet will perform on March 22, 2016, at
8:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, which is located on the second floor
of Sutton Hall.
For this concert, the Litton Quartet will be performing epic works by
Ludwig van Beethoven. One of the works is Op. 132, which features the famous “Heiliger
Dankgesang,” a song of thanks for renewed health. “Heiliger Dankgesang” was written by Beethoven
when he thought he was going to pass away, but with the help of his doctors and
this work of art, he made it through. Therefore, this piece represents the
uncertainty of life along with the thanksgiving of a full recovery.
Tickets for this event can be purchased at IUP Tickets or at the HUB
