You can create a custom map to a specific building or parking lot on the Indiana campus with IUP’s interactive map.

This is part three of a series of tips for web maintainers. The Web Team posts hints and tips about the CMS, MyIUP, IUP Mobile, and the interactive map each week.

Here’s how:

Interactive map view of the IUP College of Humanities Building
  • Visit the interactive map at map.iup.edu.
  • Search for a building or parking lot by using the search box in the upper-left corner.
  • Click your desired result.
  • At the top of the building information window that displays, click the Share button.
    • To include a link in an e-mail or web page, copy and use the address in the Link to Location field.
    • To embed an interactive version view of the map location in a web page, have a web maintainer add the HTML code in the Embed in Your Website to the HTML source code of a webpage.

Note: If you’d like for the map to open with a window including building information and a button for driving directions, leave the Automatically Open Location Details checkbox selected. Otherwise, uncheck the box and only a colored pin will appear at your building or parking lot’s location.

If you have questions about or suggestions for the interactive map, contact the Web Team by submitting an ihelp ticket.

Update: When embedding the iframe, you'll need to add a css class to the iframe in the HTML source code of the page. Depending on how you are placing it in the page (full or half width), you'll need to add either:

  • class="iframe-map-embed-fullwidth"
  • class="iframe-map-embed-halfwidth"

You'll add the above code snippet to the iframe, so that it appears like this: iframe class="iframe-map-embed-fullwidth" ...
