Jessica Dories, assistant director: International and Scholar Services, will serve in the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors Trainer Corps for a three-year term.
IUP and the
Office of International Education is dedicated to the advancement of relations and faculty/staff development. Several staff members from the OIE attended the 68th annual National Association of Foreign Student Advisors Conference and Expo in Denver, Colorado. The conference, which took place between May 29 and June 3, 2016,
provided many different workshops and seminars that our staff participated in.
Founded in 1948, the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors is the largest association for professionals who work in fields relating to international higher education. The NAFSA Trainer Corps contains about 300 volunteers who deliver workshops online as well as at
NAFSA meetings and conferences throughout the year. Members of the Trainer Corps programs are experts in their field and are chosen to provide further training to others in their particular area.
Dories participated in the NAFSA Trainer Corps Induction Workshop throughout her stay at the conference. She was accepted into this position and will serve in the NAFSA Trainer Corps for a three-year
term. Upon completion of the workshop, Trainer Corps members are eligible to host and instruct their own workshops at the NAFSA conferences.
This is a distinguished honor, and we are very excited and proud of Jessica.
