The university and Indiana communities are invited to a showcase performance of Delirium, a play being coproduced by IUP’s Theater-by-the-Grove and EgoPo, an ensemble theater company from Philadelphia. On Friday, August 12, at 4:00 p.m. in Waller Hall, an audience will experience the work the two companies have accomplished so far with Irish
playwright Enda Walsh’s visceral riff on The Brothers Karamazov.
Four IUP student actors, a beginning director, and an assistant stage manager are collaborating with professional actors from the company, many of them IUP alumni who have started their careers in the Philadelphia theater community.
Brenna Geffers (IUP-HC ’02) is directing professionals Chris Anthony (IUP-HC ’12), Kayla Grasser (IUP ’11), Johnny Smith (IUP ’07) and Kelly McCaughn (IUP ’08) along with student actors Dalton Bright, Stacey Scott, John Kusnir, and Kathleen DeOrio. Emily McMichael and Madeleine Jones are assistant stage manager
and assistant director to the project.
After the showcase here, the production will return to Philadelphia for further rehearsals and a performance run by EgoPo Theater from October 26 to November 13. Our students have been invited to perform with the company on two school matinees.
