Teamwork-Intensive Course Presentation and Discussion

Are you interested in including interdisciplinary teamwork into your courses? Join us for a brief presentation and discussion about incorporating interdisciplinary teamwork through in-course projects, and to meet potential collaborators. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 1, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in Ackerman 116. Light refreshments will be served.

A teamwork minor is currently being developed at IUP. As part of the proposed minor, students will learn core concepts and theories related to intrapersonal interaction, teamwork, communication, and leadership in a four course, foundational sequence taken in the student’s first two years.

We are seeking faculty interested in developing and incorporating interdisciplinary teamwork projects into existing upper-level courses within their major. These projects will allow students in the teamwork minor to apply the skills they have learned in foundational courses.

Faculty from any discipline can propose a teamwork-intensive “T” course. Funding (up to $3,500) is available for courses that incorporate at least one STEM discipline. Applications for funding are due February 7, 2017.
