The final Library and Lively Arts event for the
season takes place on Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the Commons area of
Stapleton Library, featuring singer, songwriter, and cellist Shana
Tucker. The Q&A session begins at 12:00 p.m.
These popular sessions give audience members the opportunity to meet the artist in a relaxed atmosphere, ask questions about their life, career, and music, and hear a mini-preview of the concert to be held that evening.
Tucker is an extraordinarily talented musician whose unique music showcases her background in both jazz and classical, and then interweaves the influences of 80’s and 90’s pop music, movie soundtracks, and world music into her own “ChamberSoul” style.
Her debut CD SHiNE caught the attention of a Cirque de Soleil talent. This resulted in an invitation to join the world-class theatrical production company in Las Vegas as a cellist and mezzo-soprano for their resident production at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
