End of the Semester Message from Provost, VP of Student Affairs, and APSCUF President

Congratulations on completing another semester at IUP!

We know that this time of year can be very stressful. There is the busyness and pressures of finals, perhaps an uncertainty of what next steps to take in your academic career, and saying goodbye to friends who are graduating. As you prepare for and complete your finals, take advantage of events to “de-stress” offered by various IUP organizations. Relax when you can, and work to keep a balance of study, fun, and rest.

This is an exciting time, especially for those of you who are graduating. We want you to celebrate your accomplishments and successes, and to make positive and long-lasting memories of IUP with friends. As you do so, think carefully about your decisions and your actions. Make choices that keep you safe and well, that show respect for our community, and that will make you, your family and friends, and your university, proud—now, and in the years to come.

While there have been many happy times during this past semester, there have also been sadness and loss. Sometimes, during times of stress and change, you may feel overwhelmed. If you need help, let us know. Talk to us, and talk to each other. We see you stepping up to support one another as a community in the IUP Way, and for that, we thank you.

Best wishes for a successful finals week and for a pleasant summer.
