Megan McCue has been selected to serve as the student advocate and assistant director of ASC@IUP. This newly formed position is in support of student success and retention.

Megan began her work with ASC@IUP in June 2017 facilitating the Parent Orientation program, a component of the New Student Orientation, for over 1,300 parents and family members of our incoming students. During the academic year in her role as student advocate, Megan will assist students as they navigate the university systems, offer student support and outreach services to at-risk students, and provide information and referrals to other university offices for both students and parents.

“The goal of the student advocate is to create a supportive environment for our students and to offer high quality services to the entire university community in relation to student success,” said Michele Norwood, AVP for Undergraduate Student Success. “Megan comes to this role with an incredible background in counseling and working with our students; her knowledge of IUP runs from academic programs to athletics to student engagement. We are fortunate to have her join ASC@IUP in support of student success.”

Megan joined IUP in August 2002 in the Office of Admissions, where she served as an admissions counselor and assistant director of Admissions. She worked with students, parents, and high school guidance counselors regarding the admissions process, IUP academic programs, and career options. She has supervised the Admissions Tour Guide program, planned the Academic Open House programs, and recently coordinated the highly successful Experience IUP Day events tobring admitted students and their families to campus to learn more about the university. As a former IUP student-athlete, Megan brings an understanding of blending academics with the student experience.

A proud IUP alumna, Megan has a master’s degree in Education, Secondary School Counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Students and faculty will find Megan’s office in 202 Stabley Library, adjacent to the ASC@IUP Walk-in Tutoring Center. She can be reached at 724-357-4070 or
