As I mentioned during my mid-semester briefing in November, the President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion has developed its preliminary Diversity Action Plan.
This plan reflects a year of very good work by many members of our community. I want to thank everyone who has been involved in this important process, including co-chairs Dr. Yaw Asamoah and Ms. Kate Linder.
However, our work is by no means complete.
In order to achieve our vision of a diverse and welcoming community of students, faculty, and staff, this plan needs all members of our IUP family to review, reflect upon, and contribute our perspectives, opinions, and suggestions.
While I know this is an extremely busy time for all, I would ask that you find time, as your schedules permit, to review
the proposed plan and offer your feedback. Comments are invited through February 23, 2018, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Commission representatives will be meeting with a number of campus groups early in the spring semester. If you would like to have a representative of the commission meet with your group, please e-mail email@example.com.
In addition to the creation of this initial Diversity Action Plan, the commission will promote and monitor continued progress and cultural change in diversity and inclusion at IUP. This plan is intended to be fluid and will evolve as new initiatives are
