The 43rd annual IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching, sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages, was held on April 20, 2018, at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. It was attended by some 150 language educators from Western Pennsylvania.
The keynote speaker, Linda Egnatz, recipient of the 2014 National Language Teacher of the Year by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, along with 20 session presenters made for an educational and enjoyable conference.
Educators from local school districts and universities offered insightful ideas for the classroom on topics ranging from language proficiency and ACTFL Can-Do Statements to the inclusion of culture and technology at all levels of language teaching.
The IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Language Teaching is an annual event, with next year’s conference set for April 12, 2019.
