When Sean Marion of Philadelphia was looking at colleges, he had a wide range of interests and possible majors he was considering. He discovered IUP had them all and found a way to individualize his degree to combine them.
“IUP definitely was the place for me to be. I’ve met so many
people, made so many connections, and had so many opportunities,” Marion said.
“I wanted to be far away from home, but not too far. I’m
starting to fall in love with Indiana a little bit. I’m from the city, and I’m
used to the city, but Indiana has everything you need.”
Sean tapped into IUP’s wide variety of classes to learn more
about his many interests—computer science, fashion merchandising, studio art,
French, graphic arts, and music.
“I’m taking classes I truly care about,” he said. “I got the
mix that I needed. They challenge me in a way I like to be challenged.”
After graduation, he plans to start a creative digital agency,
but he’s preparing for a future that is open to change.
“IUP has the community, it has the resources, and it has the
help,” he said. “If there is something you are passionate about, that you want
to do, you can do it here at IUP,” he said.
