Anthropology’s Ben Ford was recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission Historic Preservation Board.
The 15-member Historic Preservation Board advises the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission on historic preservation policy in the Commonwealth. The Board also reviews all proposed nominations from Pennsylvania to the National Register of Historic Places.
Board members are appointed by PHMC with the approval of the Governor’s Office. The board’s collective knowledge and expertise helps shape the PHMC’s understanding of what places in Pennsylvania are historically significant and should be kept for future generations.
Ford is excited to begin this service and hopes to bring his experiences on the board to his teaching at IUP.
